Happy New Year! We feel really blessed that we have been awarded a grant of £36,500 from the Beit Trust towards the £100,000 cost of building Nayamba’s trade school. This means that we are able to fund the construction of two of the trade centre blocks, where children who have graduated from Nayamba School will be able to learn trades through an apprenticeship programme. By offering apprenticeships and a small-business training model, we hope that Nayamba will eventually become more self-sustaining.

The Beit Trust has stringent application criteria and all requests are considered on individual merit. Strict rules are applied to infrastructure grants, to ensure that detailed and serviceable plans are submitted before a grant is paid, so it is fantastic that the trade school has met the criteria. Of course, we still need to find £63,500 to complete the trade centre, so all donations are gladly received. The Nayamba charity operates a 100% model, which means every penny donated goes directly into the project; nothing is deducted for administration or charity running costs. By giving to Nayamba school, you give the most precious gift that will change the lives of a generation to come. Please see for more details.

Breaking news: the legendary Nayamba Auction is back this Spring! Mark the date (21st March) in your new 2020 diary right now and make sure don’t miss out on a chance to bid for fabulous, original prizes. Look forward to seeing you there!
